“Nice B&B in the countryside”
After staying in several B&Bs in the historical town centres, it was a welcome break to spend one night in the countryside outside Piazza Armerina, on the road which leads to the Villa Romana del Casale. For once no need to worry about parking or getting stuck in a tiny alley thanks to our TomTom! The room we stayed in was simply furnished but spacious and clean, with AC, TV, a nice bathroom and outdoor space. The best part was breakfast though, a real feast of local delicacies (fresh fruit, 3 types of pecorino cheese, warm bread with dried tomatos, sweets and cakes, tomatos and ricotta.... you name it, it was on that huge table). At breakfast we met Giuseppe's formidable mother and her lovely helper with whom we enjoyed a nice chat. Worth staying for the breakfast experience alone.
