My boyfriend and I stayed at B & B Giucalem for one night in April 2006 whilst driving through Sicily. It was one of the highlights of our trip, exactly what we were looking for. It is a friendly, comfortable B & B and the location is excellent for visiting nearby Villa Romana del Casale (the mosaics are amazing, but try to avoid in the heat of the day, as they are all enclosed in glass and I would think it would be like a greenhouse!)

But the highlight for us was the welcome we received when we arrived. Tired after a day of driving from Palermo, Guiseppe welcomed us inside the family kitchen and gave us freshly squeezed blood orange juice and canoli - delicious. Breakfast was a family affair, with Mama feeding all the guests until they had eaten so much they could eat no more. It was wonderful, so friendly - the Italian Mama that you always imagined! The family didn't speak any English, but they were very enthusiastic and we had no problems communicating with our limited Italian. Iit was a very good price too.

One of the best B & B's I have ever stayed in. Highly receommended if you want a true Italian experience.
